The Comics Rising Stand-up Program was founded in the spirit of dedicating time and resources towards helping new aspiring comedians get started on their comedy journey. A former student who successfully completed the 2018 program recently reported making as much as one-hundred dollars per show.

On June 12, 2020 Mayor Walsh declared racism to be a public health crisis in the City of Boston. A Police Reform Task Force has been created to review policies and other equity issues at the Boston Police Department.

We've supported our community leaders and peacefully protested alongside our brothers and sisters since 2014 against systemic racism and police brutality. During this unprecedented time in our nation's history and global outcry for change, be an ally. Make the world a better place for our youth and the generations to come. Support the Boston Chapter of Black Lives Matter (BLM).

You can help make a difference today.

We serve food to those in need on a monthly basis and donate a portion of annual proceeds to non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting the homeless in Boston. We participate in annual Neponset River cleanup with our neighbors and make on-going contributions to those invested in our communities such as local and international Covid-19 Relief Fund efforts, Market Sharing, Black Lives Matter, Mattapan's Edgewater Neighborhood Association, and Roslindale's Village Main Street.

During this difficult time, we've started reinvesting in our arts & entertainment community by making donations to independent artists, Feel it Speak it, The Black Comedy Explosion, The Comedy Studio and our beloved Rozzie Square Theater.

Event Production

We have successfully been developing comedy shows and events throughout the City of Boston and beyond since 2016. We have also helped countless club owners, producers and artists get acquainted with streaming services during the 2020 global pandemic. Hire our team this fall/winter to produce your next virtual or in-person event.

We'll make it a remarkable one to remember.

The annual Javonee Cotton Scholarship for Comedic Excellence was founded in memory of Reece Cotton's late baby brother. 2018 Honorees received their scholarship through the Women In Comedy Festival (cinematic version). 2019 recipients received their scholarship through the Boston Comedy Chicks (comedic version). 2020 honorees have already started receiving their scholarship through Comics Rising.

Out of 3 early acceptance applicants, one rising comedian was selected by our committee to make his NYC stand-up debut at Caroline's on Broadway. He did so at their New Face's Showcase on Feb 17, 2020.
